We are a team of seven with two offices – Cairns and Sunshine Coast. Jai and Joel are our mortgage brokers, who are supported by our incredible local team Serena, Maggie, Chelsea, Andy and HR/Marketing by Marlies.  We are always on the hunt for more superstars to join our growing team.

JAI HOBBS – Director / Senior Broker

Jai is a lending specialist focusing on residential and commercial property finance and as the founder/ director of Evolve Loans, is also responsible for the direction and leadership of the team. He lives on the Sunshine Coast with his wife Marlies and 2 boys but spends time across both the Cairns and Noosa offices.
Jai started his career in finance in late 2004, initially working for CapitalCorp specialising in business and equipment finance. In November 2007 he started his own finance brokerage, Hobbs Financial Services which was based in Cairns offering property, business and equipment loans. Him and his wife started and franchised Paleo Café in 2012, which quickly grew to 17 franchisees across Australia and international. Hobbs Financial Services was sold in 2014 and a couple of years away from the industry gave some perspective and a realisation that finance and property was certainly his passion.
Evolve Loans was established in early 2016 in Cairns, quickly expanding to a second office on the Sunshine Coast in 2018.
Jai strives to deliver both the best outcome and the best experience for his clients always. He is a multi-ward winning mortgage broker with extensive industry and property development experience, and is also the co-author of ‘FLY, a Handbook for Financially Literate Youth’ (www.financiallyliterateyouth. com.au). Jai loves his life on the Sunshine Coast enjoying all it has to offer and is known for giving just about anything a try, with CrossFit, surfing and water sports just some of his favourite pastimes.

JOEL FITZGERALD – Mortgage Broker

With over 15 years of experience in the demanding world of FIFO (Fly-In-Fly-Out), Joel Fitzgerald discovered his true passion lies in finance. Armed with a Diploma in Mortgage Broking and Finance, he transitioned into a dedicated mortgage broker, driven by a desire to empower individuals and families with the knowledge and resources they need to achieve their homeownership dreams. After years of sacrificing precious time away from his family, Joel made the life-changing decision to leave the FIFO lifestyle behind and return home permanently to the beautiful Sunshine Coast, where he was born and raised. Here, amidst the stunning coastal landscapes and vibrant community, he found fulfillment in building a brighter future for his own family—a loving wife and two wonderful children. Outside of work, Joel can often be found enjoying quality time with family and friends, indulging in his passion for rugby league, and prioritizing health and fitness to maintain a balanced lifestyle. He is dedicated to not only helping clients secure their dream homes but also fostering meaningful connections and embracing the joys of life beyond the office.
